Equity Research Analyst (NY)

The firm is an NY-based L/S hedge fund seeking to hire an Equity Research Analyst to support the firm's research and financial analysis of prospective investment opportunities. The Analyst will be reporting directly to the CIO and COO of the firm. 

The firm takes a value-oriented, fundamental approach to investing in publicly traded REITs and real estate-related companies, focusing on special situations and distressed investing. It has strategic backing from a multi-billion-dollar alternative asset manager.

Responsibilities

• Building and maintaining detailed company models as directed by the CIO
• Conducting industry and company-specific research
• Building relationships with relevant sell-side analysts, salespeople, and research associates
• Producing high-quality and actionable recommendation materials
• Supporting fundamental research into companies and industry sub-sectors
• Reporting on topics such as general economic and industry-specific developments and trends
• Assisting the CIO in innovating and creating unique investment strategies
• Attending conferences and industry events

Skills

• Must have 1-3+ years of experience in  an equity research, investment banking, hedge fund, investment management, private equity, or relevant real estate industry role
• Strong financial modeling and business analysis skills
