About the Role
Applico is looking for an Associate to support our advisory and investing practice. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to market research, financial analyses, tech startup outreach & diligence, presentation preparation, project management, and client relationship management.
In this role, you will have direct access to C-suite executives at multi-billion dollar enterprises. In addition, you will learn to negotiate and structure investments in tech startups while leveraging the scale of a leading enterprise.
Responsibilities
- Lead, organize, and execute on tech startup research and outreach to relevant targets
- Assist in deal structuring and deal diligence of partnership, investment, and acquisition opportunities with tech startups
- Maintain direct, day-to-day, cross-functional client contacts. Pitch potential partnership/invest/acquire opportunities
- Communicate stories, insights, and frameworks to clients via presentational materials
- Exposure to Applico Capital and investing activities
Qualifications
- 2-4 years of total experience in a high-performance environment - investment bank, investment fund, or comparable experience
- Prior startup experience is a plus, but entrepreneurial spirit is a must
- Interest in building client relationships and working on a project-by-project basis
- Strong analytical and communication skills with attention to detail
- Ability to see the big picture and understands how work fits into the overall scope of the company and client
- Desire to develop management and communication skills
Travel & Location
Applico is working on a hybrid model for the foreseeable future. We provide hotdesk passes to coworking spaces all over the world.
We require its employees to be based in one of our hubs: NYC, West Palm Beach, and Miami. We encourage employees to work wherever they can do their best work within one of those metro areas and Applico provides opportunities to team-build in-person in each of those hubs as well as annually off-site and on-site with clients.
We have an expectation of at least 25% travel for this role to visit clients, prospective startups, etc.
Compensation
$120-160k (Range reflects base plus bonus)
